Daydream Diary: Russel Wright China

Introducing my latest obsession: Vintage china by Russel Wright, a designer known for his popular American Modern dinnerware in the 40’s and 50’s.

I was doing a house tour for Apartment Therapy a couple of weeks ago and the owner had an amazing collection of Russel Wright dinnerware in her dining room. The colors she had were simply gorgeous: corals, oyster, teal, and chartreuse. Today I am daydreaming of my Thanksgiving dining table embellished with these lovelies. Currently there are 22 pages on Etsy of these highly collectable pieces, and I think I may just need to start acquiring these for myself.

Stunning colors and lines! After seeing this, I went and hunted a bit on ebay, and I’m now crazy about some of the cocktail glasses there as well!

Several pieces survived the years since my Mother’s meals featured these ageless beauties. I serve my Grandmother’s rich stuffed cabbage in them now for every Thanksgiving. Three generations, one beautiful vessel.
