I like the idea of giving some space to the area by the front door. I’d have a sofa console along the sofa so that you can define a little zone for shoes and baskets. The top surface of this console table is also a great place to put a lamp or set a coffee mug. In this area I would recommend mounting a shelf with coat hooks to the wall so that jackets and shoes stay out of the living area.
A small sleeper sofa with a lounge chair is really all you can fit in this little space and I think it’s really all you need. A round coffee table is best and make sure it has storage capacity.
